Jan 24/2026 Lindsay Buziak Murder – Killers, Conspirators, Dirty Cops, Confusers & and a failed investigation.

Just a few months ago, detectives on Lindsay’s case contacted her father jeff & mother to tell them that the Saanich Police were shutting down the investigation and that the detectives working the case had been re-assigned to different departments.
Both parents were terribly distraught by this unexpected news, so much so, that Lindsay’s mother “finally” went public with a video telling everyone what she had been told by the police, confirming what Lindsay’s dad Jeff has been fighting for 18 long years. Justice for Lindsay. At the same time, she asked for anyone who knew anything about Lindsay’s murder to please come forward. Insp. Drew Robertson quicky responded by telling the public that this was not true, and that the investigation was still active. So, Insp. Robertson you tell the parents one thing and then you go out publicly and deny that you ever said it- when you know you really did. Saanich Police – your continual twist on words is nothing but blatant lies, all told to cover up what is really going on inside that building of yours. NOTHING!
This investigation was flawed right from the day Lindsay Buziak was murdered, led by inexperienced investigators who didn’t have the experience to be handling a major homicide investigation. You were misdirected, misled & played for fools by the conspirators who had you chasing your tails down rabbit holes so deep that you had trouble finding your way back up to the top. You believed the lies that the conspirators fed you, and then to cover up your stupidity, you began protecting the conspirators – covering for them by lying to the media/the press, making it sound like what the conspirators had told you was the truth and nothing but the truth.
In the end, the lies detectives in your department were feeding the public was exposed, and the public quickly learned that anything that came out of your mouths was nothing more than circle talk and confusion. If we’ve learned anything over the years it is that the Saanich Police lie & confuse. They speak with forked tongue in order to confuse us. But then, they get caught up in those lies & confusion, especially one Saanich cop in particular who has told so many lies I’ve lost track of them all. But certainly, we will go over some of them here, at least the ones I find most important.
The “Rule of Three” (Coincidences vs. Patterns):
Investigators often follow a rule where one coincidence might be overlooked, two might trigger suspicion, but three or more usually warrant deep investigation. What seems like a string of coincidences is often a reality, a pattern of behavior or connected evidence.
I remember back to the Dateline NBC show which aired October 2010.
When interviewed Inspector Rob McColl & Sergeant Horsley were quick to tell the world that Lindsay Buziak’s murder was connected to a major drug bust which happened in Calgary in January 2008. Of course, the Dateline experts weren’t having any of it. All three of them made it quite clear that they did not believe Lindsay’s murder had anything to do with drugs. They said, “It was personal, someone she knew, someone very close to her, someone maybe in the same office, or at least someone in the same business as Lindsay”.
The Saanich Police ran with that bullshit drug story for years, letting people believe that Lindsay was associated with drug dealers. Well, that ship has sailed you are a pathetic bunch of losers, and you have been proven to be wrong. The conspirators took you down that garden path from day one and you hung on to their every word chasing ghosts just like they hoped you would.
Here we are 18 years later, and your failed investigation has become well-known worldwide. And you are a joke. You are a bunch of misfits, running amok led by a Chief who has proven he couldn’t care less about solving Lindsay Buziak’s murder. He can usually be found at his favorite local pub just down from the station where all the other loser cops hang out. The chief’s favorite topic of conversation of course, is his upcoming retirement and the big boat that he’s hoping to buy. Your nickname is Do Nothin Duthie and you’ve earned it well.
It’s also a well-known fact that a number of cops in the Saanich Police have quit the department knowing it was that or get fired. Most of the reasons for this was due to sexual harassment complaints, stalking charges and corruption. Saanich also has a bad rap for another number of reasons, and it’s a fact that lots of good cops have left that department to work elsewhere.
BASED ON CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE ARRESTS IN THIS CASE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE YEARS AGO.
Circumstantial evidence is evidence of facts that the court can draw conclusions from. It is not necessary that facts be proven by direct evidence. It may also be proved through circumstantial evidence or by a combination of direct and circumstantial evidence. Both are acceptable as a means of proof. Neither is entitled to any greater weight than the other. Lies, deception, and misleading police in an investigation could be identified as inferences that someone has knowledge of a crime. Or be involved in a crime.
Following the evidence is the best way to seek the truth. Sometimes inferences can be drawn from lack of evidence as well. Drilling down to the fine details is important.
LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT THE TOP CONFUSERS ON MY LIST – LINDSAY’S BOYFRIEND JASON ZAILO & HIS MOTHER SHIRLEY ZAILO
Even though the police knew Jason Zailo had misdirected them, Sgt. Chris Horsley went live on CHEK News and supported Jason’s story that he was going to the house to take papers to Lindsay.
Jason told the Saanich Police that he was going to the DeSousa house that night because he had real estate documents for Lindsay to sign. Later he would recant that story, saying that he was really going there because Lindsay wanted him there for protection.
Jason confused.
(Sgt. Chris Horsley backed up Jason’s confusion)
Jason told the Saanich Police that when he left Lindsay at Sauce, he had to stop at SHC (an auto detail shop) to present an offer. He said that he was the listing agent and he was presenting an offer on behalf of Lindsay’s client. As it turned out Lindsay & Jason were not working on a deal that night so there was nothing for Lindsay to sign.
Jason confused.
Even though the Saanich Police knew Jason was confusing, Sgt. Chris Horsley went live on CHEK News and supported Jason’s story.
(He backed up Jason’s confusion)
On the Dateline show Sgt. Chris Horsley said that Jason’s last text to Lindsay was at 5:38 pm when he texted her to say, “I’m on my way”. That text was never opened. Why is it that Jason Zailo says differently?
The Dateline host Josh Markiewicz said that after 10 minutes of Jason being parked on Torquay Jason got a feeling something was wrong and Jason texted “are you okay and I didn’t get a text back, that really worried me.” That would have put Jason’s last text to Lindsay at shortly after 5:55 pm?
Why won’t Saanich Police confirm Jason’s last text message to Lindsay instead of leaving us confused.
Sgt Chris Horsley confused.
During a 2021 interview with a local reporter Jason Zailo tells him that as he got partway up the stairs, he could already see Lindsay slumped up against the bedroom wall. However, according to court documents, Lindsay was found lying in a large pool of blood. So, was Lindsay found lying in a large pool of blood or, was she slumped up against the bedroom wall as Jason claims? If she was slumped up against the wall Jason, wouldn’t you have to had moved her body to give her CPR. Did you really give her CPR Jason or were you just trying to get yourself covered in her blood?
Remember what Jason said on Dateline – “I touched her skin and knew she had passed away”. However, in his statement to local media he said, “I could hear air, describing how the air he breathed into Lindsay escaped through the stab wounds.” She was dead Jason, you already said on Dateline, you touched her skin and knew she had passed away. Why would you want to give CPR to a dead person. Were you covered in her blood for some other reason?
Jason confused.
On the Dateline show in 2010, Jason was asked whether or not it was true that Lindsay was planning on leaving him. Jason said no, everything was fine. All Lindsay’s friends confirmed that Lindsay was on her way out the door.
Jason confused
Jason told the Saanich Police that Lindsay was not worried about doing the showing, she was excited. However, Lindsay had told friends, her dad, and just two hours before the showing was to begin, she shared her worries with a few realtors that were in her office that afternoon.
Jason confused
Sgt. Chris Horsley spoke on CHEK News and supported Jason’s statement saying that Lindsay was not worried about doing the showing alone.
(Sgt. Horsley backed up Jason’s confusion).
When asked by the Dateline host what he saw when he arrived at DeSousa Place, Jason said he saw shadows through the frosted glass in the front door. Years later Jason’s story changed and he said he saw the man and woman coming out of the front door. When seeing him they turned back and went inside.
Jason confuses again
Detective Sgt. Chris Horsley told CHEK News, “Jason actually saw the couple, a Caucasian man and a blonde woman wearing a colorful dress. The door was open and the witnesses actually observed the male suspect exiting the house. The killers were actually about to walk out the front door and leave, and Jason turned into the cul-de-sac and interrupted them leaving. The couple turned around and closed the door. If Jason had been 5 seconds later, he would have driven right into the suspects walking out in the driveway. Jason’s assumption is these are the clients and the showing is just starting as the door closes. He then parks outside because he is waiting for the showing to end”.
Hellooo, if Jason witnessed the client exiting the front door as Sgt. Horsley claims how could he possibly think that the showing was just starting, when they are actually leaving.
It sounds like the Saanich Police never had an independent witness who saw the woman in the colorful patterned dress. If Jason is the only one who claims to have seen this woman, then there is a good chance there was no woman in the colorful dress. It was a made-up story.
Why did Sgt. Horsley support Jason’s confusion? Which one of Jason’s stories is the true story?
The Monday, two days after Lindsay was murdered Shirley Zailo phoned Lindsay’s friend Nikki at 4:00 a.m. Using a fake accent, she said something to Nikki, then hung up the phone. Finding this call most disturbing, Nikki quickly dialed the number back, at first no answer, but after several tries Shirley picked up the phone. At first, when confronted by the Saanich Police Shirley denied making that call. She quickly changed her story when she realized she was caught in her own very confusing story.
Shirley then told the cops that she hadn’t meant to call Nikki B, her intentions were to call Nicki, her office assistant. Well, wait just a minute Shirley, why would you be calling your assistant at 4:00 a.m. in the morning? Do you think we are all that stupid Shirley? Couldn’t that call have waited until say, at least 8:00 a.m? And why in hell would you have Nikki’s phone number stored in your phone anyway. You told the cops that Jason must have put it there after they took his phone away at the police station. Your stories are so full of holes Shirley, that you could store a lot of rabbits down there.
And just what did Sgt. Chris Horsley tell Nikki when she went to the Saanich Police with this information. Did he disparage Nikki and tell her she probably misunderstood just like he had disparaged so many of Lindsay’s other friends when they went to the police with information. Rianne, Jen, & others spoke with Sgt. Chris Horsley, but what they had to say about the Zailo’s was brushed off as irrelevant. Well, you dumb ass cop, you forgot that these friends of Lindsay’s were victims too & suffering terribly after the loss of their dear friend Lindsay. You treated them with total disregard like they were nothing. You disrespected them and what they had to say, like you are well known to do with women. You were so hell-bent on taking down the Delalcazar clan that you didn’t want to see the real conspirators who were right under your nose.
Shirley confuses. And Sgt. Chris Horsley protected that confusion.
Shirley Zailo told the Saanich Police that on February 1st, the Friday night before Lindsay’s murder she had gone over to Lindsay’s condo, arriving at 7:15 pm. She said, for about 15 minutes she overheard Lindsay talking to the client, then heard Lindsay give the client the DeSousa address. Shirley claims that after that they went downtown for sushi, then for a long walk.
Lindsay was talking to her dad on the phone that evening at 6:47 p.m., and never once did she mention Shirley was on her way over or that her & Shirley were going out for dinner and a walk. The police have no receipt from the restaurant to support Shirley’s claim and there is no proof that Shirley was even at Lindsay’s condo that night. Even more interesting, the Saanich Police told the media that Lindsay chose the Saanich home to show, and they took Shirley’s word for that. Once again, the Saanich Police believed Shirley’s confusion & misdirection.
The Saanich Police have always claimed that Lindsay was the one who gave the client the DeSousa address, and that the clients did not choose the house. Well, here we go again. The cops got that information from Shirley Zailo who told the police about Lindsay’s call with the client. Shirley was the only source the Saanich Police had for that information and they ran with it.
Shirley confuses & misdirects.
Sgt. Chris Horsley fed that unsubstantiated information to the public
On the Dateline show which aired October 2010, Shirley Zailo told the world that on the Friday evening, the night before the murder, Lindsay told her that she was afraid of her ex-boyfriend Matt. That was a ridiculous story and quickly dispelled by each and every one of Lindsay’s friends & her dad. Lindsay had never been afraid of Matt, and she still cared deeply for him.
Shirley makes up a story?
All the facts in this case bring all suspitions back to the inside circle of Lindsay’s personal life.
Those who were “closest” to her, those who knew her character, those who knew her habits, those who knew her movements, those who knew precisely how she would react to the setup. Those who were involved or had knowledge would dismiss and minimize her concerns or suspicions that something wasn’t right. The two conditions to generate a crime – motive and opportunity. The “opportunity” is clearly demonstrated by the very convenient time and location. It is by no coincidence that Lindsay was murdered at the Desousa house owned by a friend of Shirley Zailo.
The “motive” remains “very personal” narrowing down the list of suspects. Remember what the Saanich Police said, “All the people and the DNA in the house have been accounted for”. Isn’t their statement telling us that they have the killers identified! Conclusion is based on the obvious, the glaring, common sense and to those who received benefit from Lindsay’s murder. Was someone scorned? Was there a threat of criminal exposure – a very scary thought for that suspect and very personal. No matter what avenue you view Lindsay’s brutal murder, it is personal. Very personal. It was a message, and likely an act of revenge.
Lindsay’s murder was a setup, choreographed like a theatrical ballet, executed under the noses of the incompetent Saanich Police Department. If SPD continue to insist that they were NOT negligent/incompetent, then we must concur they have played a significant role in either covering up or it’s willful blindness. After 18 years of the Saanich Police Department not being able to solve Lindsay’s murder why isn’t it being turned over to the “Cold Case” unit. The Saanich Police Department, Detective Division and Saanich Police Management should have full knowledge about why this murder happened, how the murder was carried out, and how it was controlled, and who was involved.
IT’S TIME FOR ANSWERS – IT’S TIME FOR THAT ONE HONEST PERSON WHO KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO COME FORWARD – IT’S TIME FOR THE SAANICH POLICE TO MAKE ARRESTS.
