The Murder of Lindsay Buziak

Jan 6/2025 Lindsay Buziak Murder – Questions sent to Shirley Zailo, Jeff Buziak and a few others.

UPDATE: It has been 10 days since 10 questions were sent to Shirley Zailo. There has been no response.

It has been 10 days since 9 questions were sent to Lindsay’s mother. There has been no response.

Hello Ms. Zailo,

As you were kind enough to speak with the Capital Daily News a few years back which resulted in one heck of a story January 2021 that favored your family, I felt confident that you would be willing to answer a few questions for our website.  Share your thoughts per say.   Of course, the questions and your answers to the questions will be posted on our website.  We welcome your thoughts, and I am sure the public would love to hear what you have to say.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

QUESTIONS:

1.       Who do you believe is responsible for the planning of Lindsay’s murder, and do you have any thoughts on who may have committed this heinous crime?

2.       Why do you think Lindsay’s murder has remained unsolved for 17 years, and do you think that the Saanich Police have done an adequate job at investigating Lindsay’s murder.

3.       Do you believe there is still an active investigation going on in regard to Lindsay’s murder or do you feel the Saanich Police are just leading the public on, when in fact they have run out of leads and are doing nothing.

4.       On the Dateline Dream House Mystery show which aired in October 2010, you pointed the finger at Matt MacDuff saying that Lindsay was afraid of Matt.  Yet not one other person has ever said that Lindsay feared Matt.  Can you elaborate further on that statement you made?

5.       Ziggy Matheson lived in your rental property at 2768 Claude Road.  We’d be interested to know how he paid his rent as he never worked other than to sell drugs.  Were you not aware of his criminal record at that time?  Usually, a landlord screens a tenant very carefully before renting to them.

6.       After Lindsay’s murder did you ever reach out to Lindsay’s father and offer to help in any way you could.  Over the years he has always said that you walked away without any offer to help?

7.       Do you feel Lindsay’s murder will ever be solved, and if so, do you think it will be this year?

8.       What do you think of the fact that the police are using the services of a lab in the US to do DNA analysis?   The lead investigator on the case Chris Horsley said publicly that there was no DNA, no hair fibers, and no forensic evidence found at the crime scene, so what do you think they are expecting to find?

9.       Are you planning on attending the 2025 Memorial Walk for Lindsay on February 2nd?   As I’m sure you are aware the event is on a Sunday this year.  Perhaps you could cancel any open houses you may have planned for that day?

 10.  I realize that Chris Horsley is retired from the Saanich Police Department, but as the lead investigator on the case for several years do you think he is still playing a role in the investigation behind the scenes?  I believe he put his heart and soul into the investigation and really wants it solved, for more reasons than one.

Hello Ms. R.

First, we are reaching out to a few select people in the hopes that they will take the time to answer a few questions.  Of course, I have reached out to Lindsay’s dad Jeff with questions too.  As you were kind enough to speak with the Capital Daily News a few years back, which resulted in one heck of a story that favored the Zailo family, I felt confident that you would be willing to answer a few questions for our website.  Share your thoughts per say.   Of course, the questions and your answers to the questions will be posted to our website.  We welcome your thoughts, and I am sure the public would love to hear what you have to say.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

1.       Who do you believe is responsible for the planning of Lindsay’s murder, and do you have any thoughts on who may have committed this heinous crime?  You have indicated along the way that you think Matt MacDuff might be involved in Lindsay’s murder.  What evidence do you have to support your theory?

4.       Ziggy Matheson lived in a Zailo rental property at 2768 Claude Road for a number of years.  His only job was dealing in narcotics.  Do you not find it strange that landlord Shirley Zailo would rent to a known drug trafficker?

5.        Do you feel Lindsay’s murder will ever be solved, and if so, do you think it will be this year?

6.       What do you think of the fact that the police are using the services of a lab in the US to do DNA analysis?   The lead investigator on the case Chris Horsley said publicly that there was no DNA, no hair fibers, and no forensic evidence found at the crime scene, so what do you think they are expecting to find?

7.       Are you planning on attending the 2025 Memorial Walk for Lindsay on February 2nd? As I’m sure you are aware the event is on a Sunday this year.  Perhaps you could join Lindsay’s dad at the front of the walk to show support for Lindsay.

 8.  I realize that Chris Horsley is retired from the Saanich Police Department, but as the lead investigator on the case for several years do you think he is still playing a role in the investigation behind the scenes?  I believe he put his heart and soul into the investigation and really wants it solved, for more reasons than one.

9.  Do you think that Shirley Zailo suing Lindsay’s dad was the right thing to do?

Now the New Year 2025 is here, this website’s admin has come up with some fresh ideas and hopefully the public will welcome what we are doing.

This site is also considering opening up to allow comments for those who wish to have a say. We began the New Year by reaching out to a few select people in the hopes that they would take the time to answer 10 simple questions.   Three of these people are Lindsay’s dad Jeff, Shirley Zailo and Lindsay’s mother. Our goal was to give them an opportunity to speak/express their opinion and answer certain questions that no doubt the public would love to hear the answers to. So far there has been no response from Lindsay’s mom or her friend Shirley Zailo, but if and when they do choose to answer the ten questions that was sent to them, the questions and their answers will be added to this new page. It was also made clear to them that their responses would be made public and posted on this website.

This site has attracted an enormous amount of attention, and it clearly shows that people have not forgotten Lindsay, and they want to see someone arrested for this horrific crime. We need to know what the Saanich Police are doing to solve this case and who knows maybe they will surprise us with an update, a press conference around the time of Lindsay’s Memorial Walk for Justice being held February 2/2025. After all, there has been no press conference of any kind since October 2010, and that is a long time for the public to be left in the dark.

Jeff Buziak and I do not speak that often, and we have had our disagreements over the years. But, the one thing we do agree on is that Lindsay’s murder must be solved, and the delays in justice must come to an end. I was not sure how he would react to my sending him questions, so of course I was pleasantly surprised when he came back with his answers so quickly. The questions were sent to Lindsay’s dad Jeff on January 3rd, and I received his responses to the questions this morning. He made it clear that he had no trouble with me putting his answers on the website for all to see.

Question 1: Can you please tell us where you are right now with Lindsay’s unsolved murder?

Answer: I am as committed as ever to see all the people involved, from the conspirators to the killers, are arrested and charged. I had to take a hiatus this past year due to open heart surgery but as I recover, I am as determined as ever! I will be ready for the Lindsay Buziak Walk for Justice February 2, 2025 10:00am at the Saanich Municipal Hall.

Question 2: Are there any updates you can share with people?

Answer: Saanich police claim they are determined to see the people involved brought to justice. They are being overseen by a RCMP Major Crime Officer. The FBI are still assisting with certain aspects of the investigation and forensic analysis of evidence is being done in stages at a lab in the USA. Thats all I have. No more details

Question 3: Who do you think conspired to kill Lindsay?

Answer: I mull this over constantly. I really believe the expert analysts used by NBC Dateline when they did the show and stated, Someone close to Lindsay. Very close. In the same business, possibly in the same office! That narrows it down quite a bit doesn’t it?

Question 4: Why do you think Lindsay’s murder remains unsolved?

Answer: Up to this time there hasn’t been the right team that know how to push it over the goal line at Saanich police. We need a very intelligent, dedicated detective to outsmart the people involved. As well, the threshold to lay charges, which have to be approved by the Crown Prosecutors Office in BC, is way too high. Quite probably in any other jurisdiction, charges would have been laid a long time ago but in BC criminals are protected. In Lindsay’s unsolved murder someone is being protected!

Question 5: Do you believe Lindsay’s murder will ever be solved?

Answer: I get asked this regularly and from my perspective there is no other option but to believe YES. I will die trying to see that happens! I believe it is my duty as a father and a citizen to make sure the job is done.

Question 6: Has Lindsay’s mother, your ex-wife, supported you in any way in your attempts to see Lindsay’s murder is solved?

Answer: No. Quite the contrary. She has attacked and criticized me and my efforts along with volunteers who support what I do. Its sad.

Question 7: Has Shirley, Jason or Ryan Zailo done anything to assist you in seeing Lindsay’s murder gets solved?

Answer: They participated in a couple walks early on but otherwise no nothing. Shirley has been vile and insulting towards me over the years mostly, culminating in her suing me because someone else called her a couple names on one website.

Question 8: What is your opinion on the lawsuit Shirley Zailo and her Lawyer Michael Scherr of the Victoria Law Firm Pearlman & Lindholm have filed against you?

Answer: In my opinion the lawsuit is a Perversion of Justice. Lawyer Michael Scherr, the father of three daughters, should be totally ashamed of himself using legal trickery to bully and attack a father seeking justice for his murdered daughter in the same city he and his daughters reside just to make a buck which he is certainly doing by the wheelbarrow full. Disgusting on the back of Lindsay’s savage murder. Shame! I see Scherr and Shirley as nasty bullies, both of them! Oh yea, IN MY OPINION.

Question 9: How important have volunteers and supporters been for you along the way since 2008?

Answer: I can’t put a value of any kind on this very strong outpouring of support over the years! Without the many people, and a select few, I couldn’t have done everything that has transpired without them. From the four major shows, to establishing a website, to garnering the interest of media, politicians and the FBI they have been relentless.

They have motivated me, kicked me in the butt when I was down, argued relentlessly with me and put their time, energy and money on the line into seeing justice is served. They realize I need help. They understand the system is broken in BC and most importantly they know people can’t get away with murder and are willing to see they don’t! I could go on and on but can only thank them whole heartedly for all their work and dedication.

Question 10: What are your thoughts on the conspirators and killers of your daughter Lindsay Buziak?

Answer: They should be terminated. They serve no useful purpose in society and should not receive one spec of sympathy or compassion for what they did.

END OF QUESTIONS

If Shirley Zailo & Lindsay’s mom choose not to respond to the questions that were sent to them it will be very telling indeed. They had no problem helping Capital Daily News with their story attacking Lindsay’s father, a few years back, so surely they have enough guts to come on here and answer the questions that were sent to them. After all, aren’t we all looking for the same ending? Arrests and justice for Lindsay Buziak!!

With the New Year 2025 now here, let us focus our attention on finding new opportunities that present themselves in each and every new day.

No time to waste, growth is optional, and it’s all up to you. Embrace each day like there is no tomorrow, remembering that some of the best days of our lives haven’t even happened yet. We have an opportunity to get it right, so let’s not stand around, let’s get to work.

If business is your focus, then set your sights on being successful in business, if your focus lies elsewhere then be successful at whatever that may be. But wherever that dream takes you, never forget the importance of family. Remember, you are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream. And you are never too young to be told it’s impossible. Age is just a number, and it does not play a role in one’s success.

Take each day as it comes, be trusting, not judgmental. Treat your friends as you would have them treat you, as they are often your strength when you most need it, the team that stands behind you when climbing that ladder. Reach out to help someone you see needs help, that one kind gesture can make all the difference in the world in someone’s life. Remember, it’s not always about you, it’s about all of us and what we can do to help each other. Only we can make that happen.

January 1st can be the first blank page of your new book. Write the book, get it done. Make your dreams come true, it’s all in your hands.

Let’s hope this is the year that the Saanich Police make arrests. This would be sure to make “all” of our dreams come true.
