Aug 19/2025 Lindsay Buziak Murder – the public is having no part of this investigation shutting down & they are fighting back.
Just because the Saanich Police are not currently working on Lindsay’s murder investigation does not mean that it’s over.
In fact, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. A lot of people close to Lindsay were very angry when hearing the Saanich Police were no longer working the case. Some who have stayed silent all these years are starting to talk, realizing that the information they had shared with the Saanich cops’ years earlier was going nowhere. The new stuff that has surfaced in the last few weeks has been incredible, and it is clearly indicative of a community who more than anything wants to see Lindsay’s murder solved, and they are fed up waiting for the cops to make that happen.
Everyone is well aware that Jason Zailo & his mother have continuously lied in order to cover up what really happened. Jason & Shirley know why Lindsay was murdered and they know who is responsible for her murder. Did they play a part in the planning of Lindsay’s murder? Many believe they did, after all, Lindsay was lured to the 1702 DeSousa home by very deceptive means. Only someone very close to her had the power to ensure she got to that house at 5:30 sharp, and that same someone made sure that they arrived late.
Let’s never forget what the Dateline experts Yolanda McClary, Dwayne Stanton & Alan Jackson had to say. Each believed Lindsay’s murder was high risk and scripted to a tee. They said she was directed to an empty house, leading to an absence of evidence, and that indicated a level of intelligence & planning. As money was used as a lure, that indicated familiarity with Lindsay’s personal life. Each agreed that Lindsay’s murder had nothing to do with drugs, that Lindsay was targeted in a scheme well thought out and artfully designed. They believe her murder was very personal, someone very close to her, and perhaps someone in the same office or at least the same business.
And this leads us to a very important question.
Why, only one week after the Dateline show aired in November 2010, did the Saanich Police clear the Zailo’s, saying that they played no part in the planning of Lindsay’s murder. One cop in particular went much further than investigators normally do by saying he had “ruled out” Jason and his family. In homicide cases, that kind of definitive statement is almost never made. Police might say they are “not actively looking at” someone, but they rarely close the door completely until the case is solved.
This statement shocked the entire community, because the Saanich Police were contradicting/discrediting everything the Dateline experts had just told millions of viewers. Of course, everyone quickly thought that arrests were about to happen. Why else would the cops clear the obvious suspects unless they had alternate suspects on their radar? How many times have we heard that there had to be a cop involved in Lindsay’s murder? It just takes one crooked cop to derail a murder investigation.
Years ago, I never bought into that theory but as time passes and more information comes available, I am not ruling it out. Having said that, I do not believe for one minute that a cop was involved in the planning of Lindsay’s murder. However, I do believe, that right from the beginning, there is a cop who has done everything possible to deflect the investigation and send it in a direction he wanted it to go. The only cop who has been part of the investigation the entire time, leading the way. Let’s blame it on the Calgary drug bust, let’s tell people that it’s the cartel who wanted Lindsay dead. All the while he’s making the Zailo’s and all their associates look like pillars of the community when they are clearly not.
Why would a cop do that you ask?
Well, if he travelled in that same circle with people involved in criminal activity, of course, he would be doing whatever he could to protect them. You stay loyal to those who are of the same ilk. I am speaking of the same cop who interviewed a few of Lindsay’s friends right after the murder and treated them terrible. He left them so scared they swore they would never speak to the police again. It’s sure as hell not the best way to get information from young girls who race to tell you what they know. He showed them no respect and spoke to them like they were suspects. These young women had just lost a very dear friend and needed to be treated with respect.
Had that had happened, things could have been so different. I should also mention that these girls went to the Saanich Police of their own free will right after the murder. They did not wait for the Saanich Police to come to them. I could elaborate much further on this, but I won’t. I’m just putting it out there for thought.

There is no mistaking the evil look in Jason’s eyes, and the manner in which he is holding that knife you can be damn sure he knew exactly what was going to happen to Lindsay. The other guy in the picture is none other than Greg Martel, the major Ponzi scheme fraudster who is currently on the run in some foreign country. These two were not only close friends, but they also worked together in the mortgage business & played hockey together. Then we have the 3rd amigo Cohen Oatman, a mortgage broker who worked in Greg Martel’s Dominion Lending office and played hockey with Jason & Greg.
Cohen was the guy who accompanied Jason to the murder house that fateful night, and whether or not he knew what was going to happen is still unclear. One thing we know for sure, Cohen has been very uncooperative over the years, refused to talk about what went down that night, at the same time, been very loyal to Jason. Cohen was known by many that knew him to be to be a sneaky, slimy conniving little bastard, a guy who wouldn’t hesitate to lie to cover his own ass.
So, yes, based on his character he could have played his part in this murder for hire. He moved to Squamish with his family in 2019, and while living there kept his mortgage broker’s license hung at Jason’s Dominion Lending office. No longer with Martel of course, because Martel had already moved to California and was carrying on his business from the US.
LET’S STAY FOCUSED ON THE MAIN PLAYERS WHO WERE VERY CLOSE TO LINDSAY AT THE TIME OF HER MURDER.
Because that is where the truth lies, and that is where the Dateline experts, whom we should have trusted, told us to look. It is the Saanich police who led us in another direction, down the garden path leading to nowhere. We need to look close to home, focus on the people who were close to Lindsay at the time of her murder, because they are the ones who hold the key to who murdered her and why.
