Lindsay Buziak Memorial Walk for Justice Date: Sunday February 2/2025

Lindsay Buziak Memorial Walk for Justice

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 2, 2025

THE WALK STARTS at 10:00 am. it leaves from Saanich City Hall and ends at the Legislative Building in downtown Victoria.

24-year-old Lindsay Elizabeth Buziak was murdered on February 2nd, 2008. Seventeen years later and her murder remains unsolved. The people who murdered Lindsay and the people who planned her murder must be brought to justice. Please show you care about this terrible injustice and come walk with Lindsay’s dad and supporters on this very important day.

I realize people get busy with their daily routines and often don’t consider an event like this to be an important one. But what could be more important than showing respect for a family who has lost their loved one to a senseless murder. Not only are we there to support Lindsay, but we are also out there to express our anger that so many young women have been murdered, and the perpetrators are still out there walking free. This is just so wrong. Drastic changes are needed in the way the justice system handles these unsolved cases, and public walks raise awareness to what is going on. If we sit back and do nothing, we are part of the problem. If we get out there and walk – show our support, then at least we have done our small part.

Breast cancer walks see 100’s of supporters, as do many other organized walks, but when it comes to a walk for an unsolved murder the number of supporters that show up are few in comparison. Lindsay was working as a realtor at the time of her murder, so you’d think that a slew of realtors would show up on the walk as Lindsay was one of their own. Lindsay also had several friends and acquaintances in the community so hopefully this year they will take the time to join in on the walk. The walk is on a Sunday and the majority of people do not work on a Sunday. Please take two hours out of your day to show you care. Political leaders pay close attention to the concerns of their constituency.

Let’s hope for good weather, but regardless of the weather conditions the walk goes on.

LINDSAY’S MURDER MUST BE SOLVED
