August 4/2024 Lindsay Buziak Murder, an explosive tip but is it real?

When a police department in Canada receives tips, they follow a structured process to ensure the information is handled appropriately and effectively:
Initial Assessment: The tip is first assessed to determine its credibility and relevance. This involves checking the details provided and seeing if they match any ongoing investigations or known criminal activities.
Verification: If the tip is deemed credible, officers will attempt to verify the information. This might involve cross-referencing with other data, surveillance, or contacting other sources.
To maintain anonymity and protect ongoing investigations, police do not usually update tipsters on the outcomes.
Action Plan: Based on the verified information, the police will develop an action plan. This could include surveillance, obtaining warrants, or coordinating with other law enforcement agencies.
Follow-Up: The police will follow up on the tip by conducting investigations, making arrests, or taking other necessary actions. They may also keep the tipster informed if they have provided contact information.
Confidentiality: Tips, especially those submitted anonymously through programs like Crime Stoppers, are handled with strict confidentiality to protect the identity of the tipster1.
What if the cops aren’t interested in taking your information what could the reasons be for this?
- They do not want the case solved?
- They know who is involved and don’t need any further information?
- There is no ongoing investigation, therefore there is no need for them to take new tips?
- By keeping this case alive, and not calling it a cold case, they are ensuring that Lindsay’s family will never be allowed to see the evidence that has been gathered in this case.
- Why would the Saanich Police not want this case solved. Is it because the case was bungled from the very beginning and if the file was closed/cold, that information could be made public?
some of the names in the tip below have been changed to protect certain individuals.
The cellmate is real, as is his brother, so it’s not likely that the cellmate would know any of this information, had it not been shared with him directly by his cellmate A. A’s friend John was released from prison in 2019, and since that time has not even had a speeding ticket.
We must keep in mind that there may be no truth to this tip whatsoever, but because A told this story to his cellmate in such great detail this tip needs to be taken very seriously by law enforcement. Are they even aware of this information? Maybe not! It’s hard to know what the cops know and don’t know because they share nothing with any of us.
A did not go straight after being released. It’s very possible he had good intentions, however, once you’ve lived and breathed a criminal lifestyle for so many years it is not easy to extract yourself from the criminal element you spent years hanging out with. Yes, A made every effort to change. He worked as a car salesman at different dealerships after his release, (Harris Victoria Dodge) for a time and in 2022 he was working for Titanium Ford in Surrey. A tried to make new friends but it just wasn’t in the cards. Slowly he drifted back to the same old crowd and lifestyle that he tried so hard to distance himself from.
In 2022, A appeared in court on 2019 assault charges, including assault with a weapon. As these are K files, we know these are domestic assaults against women, so it’s highly likely the woman/women he assaulted refused to testify against him. This is often the case when women are being exploited and refuse to talk for fear of retaliation. If this is true, then A was and could be back into the business of trafficking narcotics and human trafficking.

BELOW IS THE TIP THAT WAS RECENTLY SUBMITTED. In my opinion this tip may be a red herring, however the intricate details of what A told his cellmate could only be information that A himself would know. It could be too, that A’s anger towards the Zailo family led him to embellish his story to his cellmate. Then again, why would he accuse his own family member of being involved in Lindsay’s murder? These are terrible accusations for someone to make and if it turns out that A fabricated any part of this story the police need to deal with him accordingly.
TIP
Cellmate John developed a close friendship in 2018-2019 with A. A had identified himself as a person serving time for a cocaine bust at a Westshore property owned by Shirley Zailo and rented to him and ZM, to operate the business. He was quite bitter because he lived at the home and undertook work under an arrangement facilitated by Jason (who was a friend) and Shirley Zailo.
A felt abandoned by the Zailos once he was charged (and he plead guilty to avoid the trial). A told his cellmate John he was aware that prior to Lindsay’s murder Lindsay B and Jason Z took a trip to the Calgary area via Kelowna to check in on business operations and it’s believed that’s when she “saw something she shouldn’t have”.
A was aware that Shirley Zailo’s other business was trafficking of young women and there were houses in Kelowna and Calgary area, understood to be owned by Shirley Zailo where they were kept as they were moved across Canada. John reported that Jason Zailo’s girlfriend previous to Lindsay Buziak died by an accident. A believed that Shirley Zailo ordered the hit on both young women to protect the broader business interests, explaining to Jason that once someone ‘knows something’, they can’t be trusted.
A believed that Jason was aware that Lindsay would be killed, and he waited around the corner to be the first one on site. A believed that his family member was brought in by Shirley Zailo from Vancouver to do the hit. Fast forward to 2020, we now know that THE FAMILY MEMBER was involved in human trafficking and was arrested in the prairies on January 28, 2020, for human trafficking – driving young women across the prairies with other people in the vehicle. S. is the “unidentified woman” in a number of the photos showing A, and A & ZM. It was reported that in July 2020 that A wanted to extract himself fully from the gang life and end his association with the Zailos and his relative S, because he no longer felt safe with what he knew.
END OF TIP
SOMEONE ONCE SAID:
I think informants at times become involved to basically cover up their own crimes and get rid of the competition.
