June 14/2025 Lindsay Buziak Murder – Who did Jason go to see the night he was released from the police station? And why?

THE SHUTTERS – 68 Songhees Road

This topic has been discussed before but if we go over it again in far more detail perhaps it will make more sense.

Why was it so important for Jason to go and see his friend Chris Schwartz on the evening he was released from jail? His girlfriend had been brutally murdered less than 24 hours earlier, and rather than stay at home with family, he found it more important to meet up with his drug dealer friend Chris Schwartz. Chris lived at #410 68 Songhees, just 2 floors up from where Jason & Lindsay lived in #218. Jason called Chris Schwartz’s home at 9:40 pm, and with the ok to come over Jason was at Chris’s door 20 minutes later 10:00 pm. The two of them spent a half hour out on the outdoor patio talking while Chris’s friend sat inside wondering what the hell was going on.

Jason & Chris’s versions of why Jason was there are conflicting, which makes the visit even more suspicious. Schwartz had been trafficking narcotics on the island for years. In fact, when he moved from Surrey over to Victoria a few years earlier, Jason introduced Chris to his buddy Ziggy Matheson. At the time Chris was buying his cocaine from the bikers (HA) on the mainland, but Jason encouraged Chris to buy his product from Ziggy. The arrangement worked out for a while, but over time Ziggy & Chris had a serious falling out, and Chris went back to buying his cocaine from the bikers on the mainland. And let’s not forget that Ziggy Matheson got his product from the HA on the mainland too.

If Schwartz had nothing to do with Lindsay’s murder, why in the hell was Jason there that night?

Had Chris played some small part in Lindsay’s murder? After all, he had the connections on the mainland to call in a hit had he been asked to do so. Then again, the way in which Lindsay was murdered is not the way the HA normally operate. Have you ever heard of the Hells Angels setting up a real estate showing, then sending in a man/woman hit team to do the job? Hell no! They would have put a bullet in Lindsay’s head when she exited her vehicle or dumped her body in the ocean never to be found.

What if Jason is totally innocent and played no part in Lindsay’s murder – which is possible. Did he go to Chris Schwartz’s place that night to ask Chris if the boys from Van could have murdered Lindsay? If Jason believed the HA were responsible for Lindsay’s murder, then he would have had to have crossed the HA big time for them to murder Lindsay and to then set Jason up to make it look like he was responsible for the crime. Did Jason owe the HA a truckload of money & had he refused to pay it back? In my mind, this visit to Schwartz’s place that night is KEY to finding out why Lindsay was murdered and just who was responsible.

HERE IS WHAT’S MOST BAFFLING. FOR THE FIRST SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER LINDSAY’S MURDER JASON WAS THE MAIN SUSPECT.

Was Jason not under police surveillance that night he showed up at Chris Schwartz’s condo? We know that Jason was not able to enter his own suite #218 at 68 Songhees, because the police had locked the place down for 48 hours. Just how did Jason access the building when he arrived at the condo building that night at 10:00 pm? Did Schwartz buzz Jason in at the front door or did Jason use his FOB and go into the underground parking garage, then up the elevator to Chris’s 4th floor condo #410. If the cops had been following Jason from wherever he was temporarily staying that night, they would know he had entered the 68 Songhees building that night. If the cops were not following Jason that night, that could have been one of the biggest mistakes ever made in this investigation.

You’d think the cops would have entered the building and investigated just where Jason had gone. If they witnessed him going in at the front entry, their first thoughts would likely have been – he’s going to attempt to go into his own suite on the 2nd floor. And who knows, if he still had the key to his place that may be exactly what he did after leaving Schwartz’s place. If Jason knew that the cops had not been following him that night, he was free to come and go as he pleased. There is a very strong chance that the cops were not following Jason that night and therefore knew nothing about his visit to Chris Schwartz’s place.

CAN YOU ONLY IMAGINE – WHAT IF THE COPS HAD NOT LEARNED ABOUT JASON’S VISIT TO SCHWARTZ’S PLACE THAT NIGHT UNTIL YEARS LATER.

A frightening thought indeed, but one that is very plausible. Critical information/evidence as to why and who was involved in Lindsay’s murder could have been left behind in Chris’s condo that night and left to sit for years until one day the cops were told about Jason’s visit that night, and the lightbulb went on. All those years of chasing the Mexican guy, all the while the evidence needed to solve Lindsay’s murder may have been right under the cops nose at #410 68 Songhees Road.

I HAD A BRIEF CONVERSATION WITH SCHWARTZ BACK IN 2022

and at that time asked him about the evening Jason went to see him. Chris would say nothing other than, I haven’t seen Jason Zailo in years. He told me he had turned his life around, had a good job as a foreman for a paving company in Victoria and was doing well. He made it clear he did not need me causing him any problems and I assured him I had no intentions of doing that. He let me know in no uncertain terms that he was considered the “SAANICH POLICE POSTER BOY”, and he had friends on the inside – and he wouldn’t hesitate to call them if I bothered him again. Don’t you just love it, he’s going to report me to his friend at the Saanich Police Station.

Chris was living in Saanich for a few years, used to hang out at Starbucks across the street from the Saanich Police station. That’s usually where you will find the Saanich cops on their break, so likely where Chris hooks up with his cop friends. You could usually find Chris riding around on his Harley in Saanich, but just recently he’s moved out to Langford and now riding a 2025 Royal Concord. He’s known to have a lead foot, so maybe watch for him when you are riding down the highway. Chances are if you spot him, he will be cruising along with one of his cop buddies – likely riding his Harley.

Chris Schwartz is a very illusive character and there are no pictures of him anywhere to be had. Should anyone, have a picture of Chris Schwartz please send it along to me so that I can post it at the top of this page. Chris works with Farmer Construction so maybe someone who works with him can snap a picture and send it to me.

IT COMES AS NO SURPRISE THAT CHRIS SCHWARTZ HAD A FRIEND IN THE DEPARTMENT

lots of the cops in that building are associated with some of the local criminals. I mean seriously, even that disgraced cop Aaron Stuart who got fired from the Saanich Police Department in 2018, still brags that he has good friends in the department and that if he wants information all he has to do is pick up the phone and call them. You can usually find that idiot out riding his bike up on the Malahat. That’s when he’s not running off at the mouth threatening his HA connections or beating up his girlfriends.

Chris Schwartz lived with his family in Surrey, and by the age of seventeen was already committing crimes.

Drug trafficking, car theft, breaking & entering, assaults. In the early 2000’s Chris was running a drug line in Surrey along with his partner Jeff Deeley. Chris & Jeff got their product from the bikers, so they had a close connection to HA members. Deeley owned Fat Cat Cycles in Langley, and Schwartz was working for him during that time. Chris was not involved in the murder of “Preece”, a guy gunned down in Surrey in 2000, but Chris was named in court transcripts as the guy who supplied the burner phone used in the murder, and the weapon. It was a few years later that a Mr. Big Sting operation brought the killer down and there was Chris, smack in the middle of all those players. So, if Jason Zailo was involved in the planning of Lindsay’s murder, and needed Chris’s help, Chris certainly had the connections to make it happen.

THE PREECE MURDER

Among those working on the line were Mr. Langlet, Mr. DaSilva, Mr. Wilson and Mr. Langlet’s brother, Joe Langlet, who worked the line sporadically. A fellow named Kevin who had contacts with one of Mr. Preece’s partners, Jeff Deeley, also worked on the line. Mr. Langlet understood Mr. Preece to be getting the product for the line from the bikers. He understood Mr. Preece to be partners with Jeff Deeley and a man named Chris Schwartz.. Every once and a while Mr. Langlet was told by Mr. Preece to get product from one of them and run it through the line, which he did maybe two or three times from March to June 2000.

Mr. Langlet said they also met Jeff Deeley perhaps in the same week. Mr. Deeley was “really pissed off” because some of the cocaine at Mr. Preece’s house that the police seized belonged to him and Mr. Preece owed Mr. Deeley some money that he would not be able to collect. Also, it brought a lot of “heat” on Mr. Deeley. Mr. Deeley wanted Mr. Langlet and Mr. DaSilva to work for him, and they said they would think about it, but Mr. DaSilva was completely against it. They sold the cocaine they got from Chris but when it ran out, he wouldn’t sell them anymore because he was Jeff Deeley’s partner, and because, according to Mr. Langlet, Jeff Deeley wanted nothing to do with Mr. DaSilva because of his attitude.

[436]     Mr. Langlet told P. that he did not know if Matt knew about the threats regarding the house and girlfriend but they wanted to take over the drug line anyway. Mr. Langlet indicated that he put Mr. Preece off in terms of signing over the house and decided that Mr. Preece has “gotta go.” Then Mr. Langlet said he got himself a .9, and I note here he did not say Glock, and said Mr. DaSilva had a .45 from before, which fits with the evidence of Mr. DaSilva and Mr. Wilson. Mr. Langlet said he got the .9 from the competition, identified in Scenario 12 as Chris Schwartz. This fits with the evidence of Mr. DaSilva as to the source of the 9 mil.

Mr. Langlet asks if Mr. DaSilva had heard anything from Chris Schwartz (who, he confirms to P. later in Scenario 12, provided him with the “burner” he used when Mr. Preece was shot).

CHRIS SCHWARTZ’S CRIMINAL RECORD

MAY 20 2016

TIMES COLONIST

Saanich police said a parolee is back in prison after goods stolen during a break-and-enter in Oak Bay turned up at a Victoria pawn shop. Several pieces of jewelry were located at the downtown pawn shop, where they had allegedly been pawned by the Saanich resident, police said.  A fraudulent cheque was also linked to the man. It is alleged that he had a homeowner pay for renovations with a cheque made out to him rather than to the construction company where he used to work. Christopher Lee Schwartz faces charges of breaking-and-entering, possession of stolen property and fraud under $5,000.

Saanich Police Statement

Thanks to our Property Crime Unit and Senior Crime Analyst, a prolific property offender, on full parole, is again behind bars. Members pieced together the puzzle after learning of a high end Break and Enter to a home in Oak Bay.  Stolen from this house were several pieces of jewelry and other personal items.  Officers followed up with local pawn shops and located several of the jewelry items at a shop downtown.  The jewelry had been pawned by the parolee.

Backtracking further, officers linked a fraudulent cheque to the parolee, who had convinced a homeowner to pay for their renovations via cheque, made out in his name, rather than that of the construction company, where he had previously been laid off from. With this information in hand, officers contacted the Victoria Parole Office, who promptly issued a Warrant of Apprehension for the parolee.  On May 18, 2016, officers arrested Christopher Lee SCHWARTZ as he left his residence in Saanich.  Charges of Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property, and Fraud Under $5000 are now being submitted.

MAN RETURNS HOME DRIVING STOLEN CAR

It wasn’t the fact that Christopher Schwartz was a few minutes late for his court-imposed curfew.  It was the fact that he pulled up to his residence in a stolen car full of pilfered goods that resulted in the plug being pulled on his participation in the Electronic Monitoring Program (EMP)According to the RCMP Christopher Lee Schwartz had a busy April 17.  When arrested at his home that day, Schwartz was in possession of a vehicle which had been stolen from the Vancouver Airport, as well as items taken in a Langley break and entry.  Besides, Schwartz was driving the stolen vehicle while prohibited from driving.  Other charges were pending.

Schwartz has an extensive criminal record for various property offenses including possession of stolen property and driving while disqualified.  At the time of Schwartz’ arrest at 4:35 p.m. he was participating in an EMP that required he be home by 4:30 p.m.  The program entails that a participant wears a large electronic ankle bracelet carrying a phone-based transmitter.  This allows the police to ensure that the conditions of a sentence, such as a curfew are obeyed.  Those on EMP are also required to submit to counselling, community work as well as random drug and alcohol testing.  Surrey RCMP say Schwartz’s participation in the EMP has been terminated and he will remain in custody until his court appearance on April 29.

MAN FLEES COPS, TAKES CHAINLINK FENCE FOR RIDE

Mounties fenced him in.

A 23-year old Surrey man who bolted from police crashed through a chain link gate Thursday afternoon.  He sped away in his black Honda Accord station wagon for several blocks with a section of the gate on his bumper.  The gate finally fell off but his driving visibility impaired his driving ability.  He crashed into a pole, the incident began inside the yard of Maple Leaf Self-Storage near the Langley border.

RCMP members in an unmarked car were watching the man in his stolen vehicle.  But he spotted them and that’s when he floored it through the closed gate.  It got stuck to the front of his car and he kept driving.  Const. Mark Hepburn said Friday.  Christopher Lee Schwartz, of Surrey, has been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, break and enter, dangerous driving and breach of probation.
