Feb 10/2025 Lindsay Buziak Murder – QUESTIONS FOR JASON ZAILO
Lindsay Buziak was murdered on February 2/2008 and her murder remains unsolved. Since then, many questions have been asked of Jason, but few have ever been answered. Of particular interest are some of the things that Jason Zailo did shortly before & after Lindsay’s murder. Not just the things he did but things he didn’t do, things that never any made sense. For the most part these questions are for Jason, and about Jason, however I will ask a few questions about his mother too. Jason has seemingly lied about so many things to so many people, that no one knows what to believe anymore. He lied to Lindsay’s father, he lied to the police, he lied on Dateline, and he is lying to himself if he thought people would just forget and go away. It’s never going to happen.
A lie by omission and half-truths is known as suppressed evidence.
A guilty party can lie and say whatever they want. They have the advantage of not having to memorize so many facts, and they can make up new facts when the currently existing ones don’t suit their purpose. The disadvantages are that when they do get caught in a lie, their credibility is destroyed, and they can’t get it back. Projection is a psychological technique where someone accuses other people of the sins and crimes of which he/she is guilty. Projection is also a kind of reversal of reality which unfortunately one cannot live in forever and lies are nothing more than a diversion from the truth.
The Zailo family lied to shift blame, they lied to create confusion, and they lied to avoid arrests and prosecution. Truth and justice are not values these people understand. They live by a family “code of silence”, but most recently people close to them have been leaking out information. So now there are cracks in the foundation, paranoia & mistrust have set in & and knowing that the cops are closing in has them not only confused, but running scared.
let’s do a refresher and ask Jason some of the same questions that have been asked of him time and time again.
Unfortunately for Jason once you have told as many lies as he has it is hard to keep your stories straight. So what he told one person years ago could be very different than what he tells another person today. That is where the discrepancies come alive and where one can be trapped in their own web of deception.
Is it possible that the investigation into Lindsay’s murder could have taken a different direction if Jason had not lied to the Saanich Police back in 2008? Right after Lindsay’s murder the Saanich Police spent the first year chasing leads in Calgary. Wasn’t it Jason and his mother who pointed the Saanich Police in that direction? Was it a case of look over there don’t look over here? In 2009 the Saanich police cleared Jason Zailo and his entire family, saying they had co-operated fully. But wait, if the Saanich Police cleared Jason and his mother based on the lies they told the police back then, are they really cleared? Hell no, they are not!
What about the polygraph test Jason was given? If the Saanich Police had already made up their mind that the Zailos were not the lynchpin between the Beltran cartel and Lindsay Buziak, then how would they effectively question them in a polygraph session? WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT JASON REFUSED TO GIVE HIS DNA.
POLYGRAPHS CONSIST OF QUESTIONS THAT ONLY NEED A YES OR NO ANSWER!
It certainly would be interesting to know just what the questions were and who formatted the questions in the meeting leading up to the polygraph exam?
We know for certain that Jason did not commit the murder, and there is a good chance he was not involved in the conspiratorial plans to have Lindsay murdered. Then again, maybe he was. But the question remains, if Jason is innocent on all counts why did he need to tell so many lies? Is he covering for someone else? Why all the strange behavior leading up to Lindsay’s murder and after her murder? Is it too much to ask that Jason answer some questions truthfully? Then and only then will people stop mistrusting what he says. But as long as we are left with, “What the hell did he just say” the search for the truth must continue. What is Jason hiding? What does he know? And could this murder have been solved years ago if Jason had come clean and been honest with the Saanich Police?
When Lindsay’s dad arrived in Victoria from Calgary the day after Lindsay’s murder he contacted Jason right away.
Jeff was a grieving father wo was desperately looking for answers. Jason was uncooperative and not really wanting to talk. Lindsay’s dad asked Jason who was at the DeSousa house with him the night of the murder. Jason lied and told Jeff that he was alone.
Lindsay’s dad should have been Jason’s top priority that day but apparently Jason was too busy tying up loose ends on things he felt were more important. Jason went to see his drug dealer friend HA associate, Chris Schwartz at 10:00 pm that night and the two of them spent a 1/2 hour out on the balcony with the door closed.
SO JASON, WHY DID YOU REFUSE TO GIVE SAANICH POLICE A DNA SAMPLE BEFORE YOU WERE RELEASED FROM THE POLICE STATION THE MORNING AFTER LINDSAY’S MURDER?
Did your high-profile criminal lawyer Bradley Hickford advise you not to give a sample of your DNA? Did your mother advise you not to give a sample of your DNA? Or did you just make this most important decision all on your own? What were you thinking? You had already left your DNA all over the DeSousa property when you touched the front door handle, when you rang the front doorbell, when you touched the handrail as you ran up the stairs, and of course when you touched Lindsay’s body as she lay on the floor covered in blood. You had to know you were contaminating the crime scene. Was this deliberate?
The Saanich Police sealed off your #218 68 Songhees condo for 48 hours after the murder while they searched the place, didn’t they? Without a doubt the investigators would have left your condo with a sample of your DNA. A hair from your hairbrush maybe – a cup you left sitting in the sink, or even in the dishwasher for that matter. Were you concerned that your DNA might link you to another crime? Or that the police might be able to prove familiarity if they could put you in the DeSousa house prior to the night of the murder.
Why did Jason and his mother do everything they could to avoid Lindsay’s dad after the murder?
Shouldn’t Jason had been there to support this grieving father? If Jason really wanted this murder solved like he claimed on Dateline, why did he choose to do nothing? NOTHING! Why not work with Lindsay’s dad to come up with ideas about the who and why Lindsay was murdered? And if Jason believed it was people who were involved in the Calgary Drug Bust why didn’t he tell this to Lindsay’s dad?
Just before the 1st Memorial Walk for Justice in February 2011 Lindsay’s dad called Jason from Calgary and asked him if he would please order the signs for the walk, and if he wouldn’t mind could he pay for them too. Jeff knew that Jason’s friend was in the sign business so he thought Jason would be willing to help out. Jason had no interest in helping Jeff out. He said, no, then hung up the phone.
Guess who stepped forward, ordered the signs and paid for them. Lindsay’s ex-boyfriend MATT MACDUFF. Now here is a guy who showed he cared right from day one in every which way possible. Matt met with Lindsay’s father a few days after the murder, promising to do everything he could to help. The two spent years communicating with each other and Matt was always there to offer his support. Matt rarely missed the annual Memorial Walks for Justice, and when they could his mom, dad, and brother attended the walk too. The MacDuff’s were there for Lindsay – but the Zailo’s were nowhere to be seen. Matt appeared on the Dateline Show and showed true emotion. He didn’t have to be there at all, but he was.
In later years Lindsay’s dad went after the Zailos every which way he could. But who could blame him? They shut him out right after the murder, lied to him for years and treated him like the enemy. What kind of people behave in this manner? People who have something to hide, that’s who.
DURING THE DATELINE NBC DREAMHOUSE MYSTERY SHOW WHICH AIRED IN NOVEMBER 2010, JASON WAS ASKED ABOUT THE RUMORS THAT HIM AND LINDSAY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP.
Jason Zailo lied when he told the host Josh Mackiewicz that there was no truth to that whatsoever. All Lindsay’s friend claimed that Lindsay was leaving Jason.
Jason Zailo told the host Josh Mackiewicz that when arriving at the DeSousa property he saw 2 shadows through the frosted glass in the front door. Same story as Cohen Oatman gave the police. A few years later Jason changes his story and tells the police that he saw the man standing outside the front door, then turn around go back inside? Most likely he had to fabricate the story if he was going to convince the police that the reason he didn’t go inside when he arrived is because he saw the man outside and thought the showing was just starting.
We know that Lindsay greeted the couple at 5:30 so it is highly unlikely that they stood outside in the cold for fifteen minutes before going into the house. This guy has told so many lies it’s hard to imagine that the police weren’t onto him years ago. Imagine, if that was a lie and Jason never saw the guy standing outside?
Shirley Zailo lied when she told Josh Mackiewicz that the night before Lindsay was murdered Lindsay had shared with her that she was afraid of her ex-boyfriend Matt. All Lindsay’s friends disputed that statement. Everyone knew that Lindsay was not afraid of Matt.
Jason Zailo told the Saanich Police that the reason he had to go to SHC was to pick up documents, then take them to the DeSousa property for Lindsay to sign. Sgt Chris Horsley repeated Jason’s story to the media. A few years later Jason’s story changed, he said the real reason he went to the house is because Lindsay was worried, and at the last minute had asked him to be there.
Jason Zailo lied when he told the police that Lindsay and he were working on a real estate deal that night. Even if Jason had some kind of business dealing going on with SHC, he knew damn well that Lindsay was worried and had asked him to be at the DeSousa house at 5:30 pm when her showing was to begin. There’s no logical explanation for Jason’s late arrival at the house, and it’s clear that he never had any intentions of being there on time like he had promised Lindsay he would. Everything Jason did that night was well-orchestrated right down to the finest detail.
Jason Zailo lied when he told the Saanich Police that Lindsay was not worried about the showing. If that were true, then why did Jason tell the police that in order to address Lindsay’s fear about the showing he reminded her about an out-of-town client she had in that same price range about a month earlier, and that woman had actually purchased a home from Lindsay. That conversation with Lindsay happened on the Friday night before the murder, shortly after Jason returned home from his hockey game after midnight. The thing is there was no real estate deal going on between Jason & Lindsay that night.
Shirley Zailo lied. When Ziggy Matheson was arrested on drug trafficking charges in June 2013, CHEK NEWS asked Shirley Zailo about the tenant who lived in her rental property at 2768 Claude Road. Shirley told them that her and her family had no association with the man that lived in her rental houseon Claude Road. But wait a minute, she had been close friends with Ziggy and his mother Deborah Matheson for years. Jason, Ryan and Ziggy played hockey together, and the Zailo’s always took Ziggy on their family vacations including the 2007 Xmas/New Year’s vacation to Whistler. Of course, Lindsay was included, but why would the Zailo’s take drug dealer Matheson with them? A guy who had already had 7 previous convictions.
It is easy to manipulate information when the only person that could dispute the claim is dead.
WHY DID JASON TAKE COHEN OATMAN WITH HIM TO THE DESOUSA HOUSE THAT EVENING? Jason didn’t really like Cohen and the two never spent much time together outside of work. Why Cohen? Did Jason know that Cohen was the one who could be easily manipulated? If Jason and Cohen left DeSousa before 6:00 pm, what were they going to be doing between 6:00 and 10:00? Jason claims they were going out for dinner, but didn’t he just finish his late lunch at Sauce around 4:00 pm. Their hockey game didn’t start until 10:05. Why did Jason lift Cohen over the fence and then go back to the front door? Why didn’t Jason just hop the fence himself and be the first one in through the open door?
WHY DOES EVERY MOVE JASON MADE THAT NIGHT JUST SEEM SO WELL PLANNED OUT?
AFTER JASON GOT INTO HIS VEHICLE AT SHC AND HEADED TO DESOUSA HE CALLED HIS BROTHER RYAN TO ASK FOR DIRECTIONS. Ryan was at Ashley Lum’s house when Jason called him shortly after 5:30 pm that night, a highly suspicious call indeed. Apparently, Ashley’s parents were home at the time, and they are Ryan’s alibi for the time of the murder. Why didn’t Jason ask Lindsay for directions to the DeSousa home when they were having lunch at Sauce – or the day before? In 2008, most realtors carried a map in their vehicle. Didn’t Jason realize that DeSousa being a brand-new street would not be on google maps. After all, Google only updates their maps every 1-2 years.
The lies, discrepancies, half-truths and the deception that has been going on in this investigation for the last 17 years needs to be dealt with once and for all.
